Simon Rogan
Chef proprietor Simon Rogan has developed a style of cooking that has marked L’Enclume out as a destination for ‘foodies’, creating what has become his signature - the multi-course ‘taste and texture menus’, using ingredients from nature, many of which have fallen out of favour, to flavour and fragrance his dishes.
Over the past three years, Simon has won several awards – these have included his first Michelin star, as well as four AA rosettes. L’Enclume has also been singled out by the Good Food Guide, and awarded a Restaurant Remy.

Simon Rogan and Penny Tapsell, proprietors of Michelin-starred L’Enclume restaurant in Cartmel, Cumbria are delighted to announce that they will be bringing their unique offering South, and opening a second restaurant with rooms in Henley-on-Thames later this year.
This second property will allow Simon scope to develop his innovative menus, which stretch culinary boundaries through combining unusual tastes, textures and fragrances. He is looking forward to creating something completely different, and even more adventurous, taking as his starting point the idea of food as an art form.
