Personal profile - Bill Hutcheson

I left Scotland in 1973 and spent the next 12 years in the Royal Air Force, most of which was spent on Cyprus .

At 30 years old I entered the corporate world via Reuters in Fleet Street , London . Finally, three company's and two redundancies later at 50 years old decided to turn a serious hobby and passion into a job by setting up Hutcheson Whisky Events.

Although much poorer, I am definitely much happier doing what I love!

Achievements have included:

•  One of the judges for Whisky Magazine for the 2005 Independent Bottlers Challenge whisky competition.

•  One of 5 team members in 2006 for the whisky industries 40 mile charity walk through Speyside for 'Make Poverty History'

•  Performing whisky tastings at Highclere Castle for a major corporation and on top of Tower Bridge in London for Boisdales.

Events

Hutcheson Whisky Events (HWE) was created out of a passion for fine malt whisky. This is a passion that we want to share, demonstrating the amazing diversity of flavour and aroma of these high quality malt whiskies.

Can there be a better way to impress and entertain your customers, celebrate a special event or even just get together with a few friends?.

Alternatively, as a corporate entertainment event an introduction to malt whisky could lighten up a conference, seminar or training programme.

Retail

In addition to tasting events, HWE also retails a carefully chosen selection of whiskies via the internet, over the phone, at events & fairs or through the Hutcheson Malt Whisky Centres

Malt Whisky Centres

HWE has recently begun to establish Malt Whisky Centres in participating quality pubs and hotels. These venues will stock high quality whiskies for off-sales as well as behind the bar.

Please ask if you are a publican or hotel owner and may be interested in this unique commercial arrangement.

Whisky Club

The Hutcheson Whisky Club has been set-up for enthusiasts interested in getting together for discussions and tasting malt whiskies. A subscription to the Whisky Club also offers discount on retail purchases of malt whisky and can be gifted to others as a present using specially prepared documentation.
