The Beef Aberdeen Angus comes from selected farms around the Scottish Highlands, bred and farmed by craftsmen who care about the feeding and are conscious of the cattle's' welfare.
Good beef deserves to be hung to fully mature, which is carried out on the premises for at least 21 days, for succulence, tenderness and flavour which is enhanced by the presence of fat, both on the surface and marbled throughout the meat.
The staff are all fully capable of selecting the cut of your choice or to advise you of your requirements. The shop has lamb and pork selected from local farms which are members of farm assured schemes. The game season is now upon us and Gabriel Machin has wide comprehensive range; Grouse from the Scottish moors, pheasants, partridge from local shoots in the Chiltern hills and surrounding areas from September. A wide range of freshly caught fish and shellfish delivered daily, from around our coastline. Among other fish specialities are Home smoked wild Scottish Salmon, Organic Salmon, Eel, and trout. Throughout the lengthy and intricate process of smoking, no colouring or artificial additives whatsoever are used. The flavours that result are an impressive reminder of the huge difference between these traditionally prepared products and standard supermarket fare. There is also a wide range of smoked poultry products and home produced dry cured bacon. Award winning Local English cheeses and artisan cheeses of Europe.
There is also a large range of sausages and barbecue meats available.
