The Granary Delicatessen

We are a tiny and traditional shop in reputedly the smallest town in England nestling in the shadows of the Chilterns, surrounded by red kites soaring over bluebell strewn beechwoods.

We can be found between Henley-on-Thames and Oxford and close to the historic market town of Wallingford.

Watlington also has a fabulous cookshop 'The Galley', a charming gift & tabletop shop 'Two&Six' and a quality old fashioned butcher 'Calnan Bros' so Watlington is well worth a visit.

Watlington has three of the fourteen best restaurants in the world within easy reach.

We stock over 150 cheeses, many award winners and many coming from UK farmhouse producers.
We also stock many fine Continental cheeses including Parmiggiano Reggiano which is almost too good to grate over pasta or risottos.

The granary is also a corner shop with a huge range of store cupboard 'basics' from Delia's, Jamie's, Nigella's and our favourite cooking ingredients.

The granary is a cheese shop at heart and yet we sell many fine and award winning foods from specialty food suppliers, most of which are not stocked in supermarkets, instead they find themselves in independent food shops like ours.

We try to taste everything we sell which is a real trial but then someone has to make sure that we only sell yummy things!

We at the granary update our range continually throughout the year and try to keep as close as possible to the leading edge of fine food, and then at Christmas we find and shoe-horn even more in! For example we stock Suffolk Mud, Tracklements, Williamson& Magor teas,tropical herbs and spices, and The Toffee Shop's fudge and toffee aswell as chocolates from the traditional to the avant garde.
