Laithwaites & Forbury's Restaurant Laithwaites is now the world's largest independent wine merchant and offers around 3500 wines from 500 suppliers in 22 different countries. 65% is from Europe , 35% from the 'new world'. Tony Laithwaite's aim 37 years ago was to be a modern alternative to the traditional wine merchant - travelling further and explaining wines better. We remain true to this principle and remain fiercely independent. We champion diversity, authenticity and specialise in bringing forward little known wines and producers. Forbury's Restaurant & Wine Bar Forbury's restaurant has been established for 3 years and is located in Forbury Square in Central Reading . Our passion is food and wine where you can select from our Market menu Starting @ £13.95 for 2 courses available Monday to Saturday Lunch & Dinner or indulge yourself from our A La Carte menu or for larger group, we also party menus. The wine list boast over 180 wines with a selection of 12 wines by the glass. Secure car parking available evening and Week end. Our philosophy is simple "something should taste of what it is" We have the best products from the most fastidious suppliers, simply but carefully executed, and there are always blackboard specials. Authentic cuisine maybe regional, but our Terroir is the whole of France .
